Promises of God

What he said he'd do.

The Bible is full of promises. Stand on them.

The big idea

When circumstances tell you one story, the promises of God tell you a truer one.

What does “Promises of God” walk through?

1

All Promises Yes in Him

2 Corinthians 1:20 · KJV

For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen.

In plain English

Every promise God ever made — they're all 'yes' in Jesus. All confirmed.

2

Don't Trust Feelings

On hard days, your feelings will lie. They'll tell you God forgot, didn't care, isn't real. Don't believe them. Trust what's written down. Promise > feeling. Always.

3

Not One Failed

Joshua 21:45 · KJV

There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.

In plain English

Not one good thing God promised didn't happen. He kept every word.

“Stand on the promise. Even when you can't feel the floor.”

4

A Few to Stand On

I'll never leave you. (Hebrews 13:5) Cast your cares on me. (1 Peter 5:7) I'm working all things for good. (Romans 8:28) My grace is enough. (2 Cor 12:9) Pick one. Memorize it. Lean on it.

Pray

Father, when feelings shout, help me stand on what you said. Anchor me to the promises.

Write it down

Pick one promise of God to memorize this week. Which one would help you most right now?

You finished: Promises of God

Feelings move. Promises don't. Stand on what's true even when you can't feel it.

Which passages does this journey use?

2 passages, drawn from 2 Corinthians 1:20, Joshua 21:45. Every verse appears here in the King James text with a plain-English line beside it, so you can read it without a commentary open. Allow about 5 minutes for the whole thing, or 6 short sittings.

  • 2 Corinthians 1:20
  • Joshua 21:45

Read any of these in full on the complete KJV, or look the wording up independently at Blue Letter Bible.
