Spiritual Warfare

The battle nobody talks about.

Recognizing — and resisting — what's actually going on.

The big idea

Some battles don't come from people. They come from forces you can't see.

What does “Spiritual Warfare” walk through?

1

Not Flesh and Blood

Ephesians 6:12 · KJV

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers.

In plain English

Our real fight isn't against people — it's against unseen spiritual forces.

2

The Real Enemy

Most modern people roll their eyes at this. But scripture is clear: there's a real spiritual enemy who works through lies, division, and discouragement. The first step in winning is acknowledging the fight is real.

3

Resist the Devil

James 4:7 · KJV

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

In plain English

Stay submitted to God, and stand against the enemy — he will run.

“The enemy doesn't fear loud Christians. He fears focused ones.”

4

The Armor

Paul lists the armor: truth, righteousness, the gospel, faith, salvation, the Word, prayer. Notice they're all daily disciplines. Spiritual warfare isn't dramatic — it's daily. You wear truth like armor by living it.

Pray

Father, give me eyes to see what's really going on. Cover me in truth. Help me stand. Let me fight the right enemy and not the people you've put around me.

Write it down

What battle are you facing right now that might actually be more spiritual than situational?

You finished: Spiritual Warfare

Your fight is real. So is your defender. Stand in the armor. The victory is already secured.

Which passages does this journey use?

2 passages, drawn from Ephesians 6:12, James 4:7. Every verse appears here in the King James text with a plain-English line beside it, so you can read it without a commentary open. Allow about 5 minutes for the whole thing, or 6 short sittings.

  • Ephesians 6:12
  • James 4:7

Read any of these in full on the complete KJV, or look the wording up independently at Blue Letter Bible.
