Holy Boldness

Living unafraid.

Faith that takes up space.

The big idea

Boldness isn't volume. It's a quiet refusal to shrink in the face of fear.

What does “Holy Boldness” walk through?

1

Grant Boldness

Acts 4:29 · KJV

And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word.

In plain English

Lord, look at the threats. Give your people the courage to speak your word anyway.

2

Not Personality

Boldness isn't loud. Some of the boldest believers in scripture were quiet. Boldness is what happens when fear is real but obedience is greater. You don't have to feel brave. You have to act faithful.

3

Not a Spirit of Fear

2 Timothy 1:7 · KJV

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

In plain English

God doesn’t lead you by fear. He gives strength, love, and steady thinking.

“Courage isn't fearless. It's faithful in spite of fear.”

4

Where

Where in your life are you shrinking? Where do you suspect God is nudging you to speak up, show up, or step up — but you've been hesitating? That's the place to be bold today.

Pray

Father, where I've been shrinking, give me courage. Not loud — just faithful. Help me obey the next nudge.

Write it down

Where are you shrinking? What would faithful boldness look like there?

You finished: Holy Boldness

Boldness is mostly showing up. Show up tomorrow. He'll show up with you.

Which passages does this journey use?

2 passages, drawn from Acts 4:29, 2 Timothy 1:7. Every verse appears here in the King James text with a plain-English line beside it, so you can read it without a commentary open. Allow about 5 minutes for the whole thing, or 6 short sittings.

  • Acts 4:29
  • 2 Timothy 1:7

Read any of these in full on the complete KJV, or look the wording up independently at Blue Letter Bible.
