Rebuilding Trust with God
When something hard shook your faith.
For the seasons after the season that broke you.
The big idea
Trust isn't built in calm waters — it's rebuilt in the wreckage.
What does “Rebuilding Trust with God” walk through?
How Long?
Psalm 13:1-2 · KJV
How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily?
In plain English
How long, God? Are you going to forget me forever? How long is your face going to be hidden? I can't carry this sorrow.
Honest Is OK
David prayed this. He didn't censor himself. The Psalms include the angry, lost, abandoned-feeling prayers — because God can handle them. If your trust got shaken, start by being honest. He's not surprised.
But I Trust
Psalm 13:5-6 · KJV
But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation. I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.
In plain English
But — I trust in your mercy. My heart will celebrate again. I'll sing because you've been good to me.
“Trust isn't proven in the easy times. It's earned in the hard ones.”
The 'But' That Saves
Notice the same psalm goes from 'how long' to 'but I have trusted.' Both are real. The hard part doesn't get skipped — it gets walked through. Trust rebuilds slowly. One 'but' at a time.
Pray
Father, my trust is shaky. I'm not pretending it's not. Walk with me until it's whole again. I want to come back.
Write it down
What shook your trust in God? What would 'rebuilding' look like for you, even slowly?
You finished: Rebuilding Trust with God
Faith with cracks is still faith. He's patient. The repair takes as long as it takes.
